Budding young writers from local elementary schools can interact with area authors of children’s books to celebrate the art of writing at the second annual Young Authors Festival.
The event is sponsored by the NAU College of Education in partnership with the Northern Arizona Book Festival and Northern Arizona Reading Council. It is an opportunity to celebrate literacy with the community’s children, said Jennifer Federio, graduate student in the College of Education and one of the event’s coordinators.
Students from local elementary schools can meet with authors and illustrators of children’s books, and student-teachers from the College of Education will conduct a book-making workshop.
The Young Authors Festival takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the College of Education and Prochnow Auditorium.
