If keeping up with new technology has you as lost as Dorothy in search of Oz, attend e-Learning’s fifth annual Southwest Institute for Learning with Technology, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. May 18 and 19 in The W.A. Franke College of Business first-floor lobby.
Experienced instructors, course designers and technology specialists will present information on web conferencing, podcasting, instructional audio and video, as well as educational uses of social software and cool gadgets.
The institute will provide training for using technology tools, such as online groups, Twitter, smartphones and iPods, to engage and communicate with students.
More than 20 specific sessions will be offered, including “Twitter and Podcasts and Skype, Oh My!” at 3 p.m. May 18 in room 334, and “Tweet Tweet: Post Class Announcements via Twitter,” at 1 p.m. May 18 in room 344.
In addition to scheduled sessions, two “open labs” will be available for attendees to get one-on-one consultation, training and a chance to experiment with different kinds of technology.
