NAU symphony orchestra plays classics for family weekend

Enjoy the celebration of sound at the Northern Arizona University Symphony Orchestra performance this family weekend.

The Symphony Orchestra will begin the season by playing familiar classics, such as Rossini’s “La gazza ladra Overture,” Wagner’s “Flying Dutchman Overture,” Theofanidis’ “Rainbow Body” and Mahler’s “Adagietto from Symphony No. 5.”

“There is something for everyone in this energy-filled celebration of sound,” director Daniel O’Bryant said.

The concert will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 7 in the Ardrey Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are free to students and youth, $7.50 for seniors and NAU employees and $12.50 for general admissions. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Central Ticketing Office or online at the CTO website. Tickets also will be sold at the performance.
