Summer youth camps announce programming, registration dates

Northern Arizona University is again offering its popular variety of youth camps to help kids of all ages stay active throughout the summer.

This year’s programming includes:

Recreation Services Summer Youth Programs
Discounted registration for faculty and staff begins April 16. New this year is a middle school camp for kids in grades 6-8, as well as a summer intramural sports league in which high schoolers, NAU summer students and even faculty and staff can play.

Mountain Jacks Kids Camp
Children in grades PreK to 5 can enjoy morning activities of sports and field games, arts and crafts and experiential education sessions. Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Dolphin Day Camp
Children in kindergarten through fifth grade get active in this afternoon camp with daily swimming, arts and crafts, field games, water safety education and weekly field trips. Camp hours are 1 to 5:15 p.m.

Explorer Camp 
An activity-based and adventure education camp for kids in grades 6-8. Camp is held Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Half-day options also are available.

Summer Sports Leagues
Students, faculty and staff can join one of three separate leagues for indoor soccer, basketball and sand volleyball. Each sport will be offered in five-week sessions for high school students age 14 to 18, NAU summer students age 18 and up, and a “Legends” league for faculty and staff.

Forestry and Environmental Education Camps
A fun camp that connects kids to the forest and the natural world so they can learn and teach others about good stewardship, land ethics and forest health.

Curry Summer Music Camp
Established in 1950, the Curry Summer Music Camp offers junior high and high school students the opportunity for musical immersion and social interaction with one another.

Athletics Summer Camps and Clinics
Geared toward young athletes looking to elevate their game in a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer, track and field, football and volleyball.
