  • The Northern Arizona University women’s basketball team was honored on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for averaging a team GPA of 3.646, the highest team GPA for the entire NAU Athletics Department. Peyton Carroll, Molly Rohrer, Emily Rodabaugh and Caitlin Malvar each earned a perfect 4.0 GPA while nine players total finished the year with a 3.75 GPA or higher.
  • Samantha Robbins, student in mechanical engineering, was selected to serve on the 2020-21 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Petroleum Division Collegiate Council. This is a chance for Robbins to engage in professional development opportunities and was facilitated by the department’s involvement with ASME spearheaded by instructor and lab manager Perry Wood.
  • The NAU women’s golf team had several accomplishments. Incoming golf freshman Ekaterina Malakhova won the 2020 Russian Golf Championship, leading from start to finish and winning the tournament by nine strokes. Junior Aleksandra Chekalina finished in fifth place. Junior Ashley Croft and sophomore Lorel Hayward competed at the Cactus Tour in Mesa placing No. 16 and No. 36 respectively. Junior Elle Kocourkova and incoming freshman Klara Kucharova competed at the Czech International Amateur Championship where they each placed No. 33 and no. 46 respectively.
