NAU’s School of Music will showcase the works of its various student and performing groups with a series of public concerts.
All performances will take place in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.
NAU Symphony Orchestra
3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15
Pianist Jeffrey Swann, artist in residence, will join the orchestra to perform Totentanz by Franz Liszt. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for seniors and NAU employees. Youth and NAU students with a valid student ID are free.
NAU Bands
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18
NAU Symphonic Band and the Lumberjack Marching Band will kick things off with “A Fall Finale.” Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for seniors and NAU employees. Youth and NAU students with a valid student ID are free.
NAU Percussion Ensemble
7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20
The performance will include a repertoire from a variety of musical styles, including standard works and contemporary compositions, commissions and world premieres, commercial/jazz arrangements, cross-discipline collaborations, and world and culturally-infused chamber music. The event is free and open to the public.
NAU Wind Symphony
7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23
The Wind Symphony selects a diverse and contemporary repertoire to challenge students and bring out their highest level of performance. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for seniors and NAU employees. Youth and NAU students with a valid student ID are free.
NAU Jazz Band
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24
Small and large jazz ensembles will perform jazz standards, original student compositions and favorites from the big jazz band. Vocalist Dennis Rowland, a member of the Count Basie Orchestra, will join the ensembles on stage. The event is free and open to the public.
