Student Affairs celebrates 20 years of student success strategies

Student Affairs Strategic Initiatives (SASI) will host the 20th anniversary Showcase of Strategies for Student Success, an event that features poster presentations and conversation tables focused on promoting academic improvement methods.

The showcase will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 2-5 p.m. at the International Pavilion, themed, “Pathways to Thriving Futures: Empowering Student Success Through Excellence, Inclusion, and Impact” and include a President’s Welcome and Reflection with President José Luis Cruz Rivera on his philosophy of “relentless welcome,” an emphasis on empathetic faculty-student interactions, and “academic momentum,” the promotion of student improvement and retention. Attendees will discuss how NAU can use these concepts to serve students.

Topics include academic excellence, student success, commitment to Indigenous peoples, impactful scholarship, mission-driven and diverse faculty and staff, community engagement and sustainable stewardship of resources.

Posters are eligible for Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards. Last year’s winners included Campus Living for “Campus Living Impact,” the Department of Mathematics & Statistics for “Promoting Math Access through Shorter Math Pathways” and Health Promotion for “In-KOGNITO: Student Affairs Student Staff on the Frontlines of Mental Health!”
