NAU’s Employee Development Day, a chance for NAU employees to attend a variety of professional development workshops, is scheduled to take place Wednesday, May 20, in the W. A. Franke College of Business.
This year’s free event, “Passport to Excellence: Develop U,” is offering 35 different session topics throughout the day that NAU employees will have the opportunity to attend. In addition to the classes offered, there will be a service fair featuring local organizations and various NAU departments, a HealthyU walk around campus, and KAFF radio will play music and give out prizes during the scheduled lunch break. Participants in the wellness walk will earn two HealthyU points.
Cassie Petit, director of learning and development, said the day is about both personal and professional development. “I think for us being a business of education, it’s great that NAU takes the same approach with their employees so they have the opportunity to come, whether it be for a full or half day, and just learn new and fun things,” she said.
A broad range of session topics include:
- How to Excel in Excel
- Safejacks: Suicide Prevention Training
- Use Your IOS Device to be More Creative
- Stretch and Relaxation
- How to Improve Budgets and Environment
- Healthy Habits 101
- Using LinkedIn to Develop Your Network of Strong and Weak Ties
