A well-known author and professor of politics will present a lecture and book signing at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, in Cline Library Assembly Hall.
Peter Dreier, the E.P. Clapp Distinguished Professor of Politics and chair of the Urban and Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College, will discuss “Social Movements: How Ordinary People Make Extraordinary History.”
He also will be available to sign copies of his new book, The 100 Greatest Americans of the 20th Century: A Social Justice Hall of Fame. Dreier maintains that radical ideas of one generation become common sense of the next generation.
