Northern Arizona University President John Haeger has scheduled a campus-wide forum beginning at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in the High Country Conference Center.
The president will discuss student success and renewed efforts to improve retention. He also will discuss the recent directive from the Arizona Board of Regents to trim the universities’ state-funded salary budgets 2.75 percent and the May 18 vote on a 1-cent sales tax and potential outcomes if the sales tax fails.
In advance of the forum, an internal comparison of budget scenarios has been prepared to compare FY11 budget outlooks with and without the passage of Proposition 100. The comparison outlines possible budgetary impacts on higher education, K-12 education, public safety, health care and health services, voter-approved initiatives and other impacts on state government.
The event will include a question-and-answer session. The forum will be webcast, and web participants may e-mail their questions to Inside@nau.edu.
A reception will follow the forum.
