‘Plight of the Condor’ exhibit opens

Condor

A new exhibit documenting the California condor will be on display October 5, 2015 to January 5, 2016 at the High Country Conference Center.

The collection by Flagstaff photographer John Sherman showcases his mission to photograph all 71 endangered wild condors in northern Arizona and southwest Utah. The condor was once on the brink of extinction and recovery goals still loom.

An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 16. Guests are invited to hear about the condor’s recovery process from Chris Parish, director of the Peregrine Fund’s Condor Recovery Program. Refreshments will be provided.

Visitors can enjoy the gallery during regular conference center business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
