Northern Arizona University and Yavapai College will celebrate their partnership with the town of Prescott Valley during the grand opening celebration of the town’s Library and Educational Complex this weekend.
The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Prescott Valley Library, 7401 E. Civic Circle. NAU President John Haeger and Ernest Calderón, president of the Arizona Board of Regents, are among the scheduled speakers.
Tours of the facility will be offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The new NAU-Yavapai is seen as one of the first steps in redesigning the system architecture of the Arizona universities. The partnership will allow area students to earn bachelor’s degrees through accelerated programming in less than four years and at about one-third the cost of a traditional, residential college experience.
