Northern Arizona University will host the 2009 Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships starting Friday, Feb. 27, at the Walkup Skydome.
Representatives from all nine league schools will compete in the two-day event. Tickets are available for sale at the Central Ticket Office or on the day of the events for $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children.
NAU head coach J.W. Hardy’s men’s team was selected as the preseason favorite to claim the indoor team title by the league coaches. NAU has won 12 indoor titles since 1980 but has not won since 2003. Sacramento State is the defending champion on the men’s side.
Sacramento State is favored to win the women’s title with the Lumberjacks picked to finish in second.
The multi-events will start Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. The field events start at 3:35 p.m. Friday afternoon with the running events slated to start at 4:30 p.m.
