Charles Mee’s wild comedy Big Love, directed by Bob Yowell, professor of theater, will hit the stage April 16, 17 and 21-24 at 8 p.m. and April 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. in Northern Arizona University’s Clifford E. White Theater.
“’Big Love‘ is a one-of-a-kind script.” Yowell said. “It’s too aggressive to be a romance and too poignant to be an all-out farce, but it speaks volumes on the complex subject of love. The NAU production is exciting, unpredictable and humorous.”
Based on Aeschylus’s The Suppliant Maidens, Big Love is a modern day battle of the sexes tale about 50 brides who flee 50 grooms to a marvelous villa on the coast of Italy. The play focuses on three of the betrothed couples.
All characters will be played by NAU Theater students, including Jenna Luckow, Christina Forester, Heather Vaughn, Caleb Reed, Jesse Micelli and Justin Hopper.
Tickets are $7 for students with an NAU ID, $11 for seniors, faculty and staff and $12 for adult community members. For tickets, call the NAU Central Ticket office at (928) 523-5661 or visit www.nau.edu/cto.
