The Northern Arizona University Choral Studies area will present its annual Winter Festival of Choirs, beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Ardrey Auditorium.
The concert features three ensembles performing a diverse program of traditional, contemporary and multicultural choral music.
Tickets are available at the door or in advance by calling NAU Central Ticketing at (928) 523-5661. Adults are $12, faculty staff and seniors are $10, and students are free with an ID.
The Harold M. Harter Memorial Handbell Choir, conducted by graduate teaching assistant Robert McGrath, will play Outbursts of Joy by Cynthia Dobrinski, A Festal Song by Donald Noller, Elegyby William Payne and close with the theme from the Disney film Pirates of the Caribbean.
Erica Kragness, graduate teaching assistant, will conduct the University Singers. This ensemble will sing Gloria by Nate Youmans, NAU graduate student, The Water is Wide arranged by René Clausen, and Ask the Watchman arranged by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory.
Edith A. Copley, director of choral studies, will conduct the Shrine of the Ages Choir for its performance of a two-movement work by Michael Hennigen titled Give Me the Splendid Silent Sunand Alice Parker’s arrangement of Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal.
