NAU’s Beta Alpha chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators, is offering a Motivational Interviewing training seminar from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the University Union Havasupai rooms A and B.
Paulette J. Christopher from the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers will facilitate the training.
Motivational Interviewing is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping patients and clients explore and resolve ambivalence. Students and professionals in mental health, psychology, social work, criminal justice, substance-abuse, juvenile delinquency and health professions will benefit from this training.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Registration is free for NAU students and $25 for community members. Space is limited. Register by contacting csinau@gmail.com.
