Paul Donnelly, associate professor of comparative cultural studies, will speak on “Soujourn in the Land of the Dakinis: A study of the Nako Pilgrimage” at a free public lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Liberal Arts building, room 120.
In his sabbatical lecture, Donnelly will discuss issues pertinent to Buddhist pilgrimage studies, including the unique aspects of life in the Himalayan village of Nako, a little-known Himalayan Buddhist sacred site where he conducted field research last year.
The lecture is sponsored by NAU’s Department of Comparative Cultural Studies.
