Members of the Northern Arizona University community can now show off their newly acquired skills. ITS recently introduced a badging system, a new initiative through Acclaim by Credly that allows members of the Lumberjack community to earn badges after completing certain campus activities, courses and trainings.
Badges are digital icons that signify an individual has mastered a skill or completed a project. They generally represent a limited number of activities. NAU currently offers several different badges ranging from campus health and safety measures to professional development workshops.
Those who participate can accept and share the badges they earn. Acclaim is a platform that tracks the badges and presents them as a portfolio shareable beyond academic institutions. There is also an option to share the badges on LinkedIn so those visiting your profile can see the skills, activities and competencies earned.
The badges are available on the Acclaim website for NAU where a personal account can be created. Participants receive an email from admin@youracclaim.com when a badge is completed that will contain instructions on how to retrieve the badge. ITS encourages those interested to use their NAU email.
