International Week celebrates education and diversity

International Week students and flags at Blome

NAU’s annual International Week begins Monday, April 13, with the Parade of Nations, a procession where international students will bear the flags of their countries during a campus march. Sponsored by the Center for International Education, International Week runs from April 13-17 and will host events which explore a range of cultures from around the globe.

“The World Through My Eyes” photo contest will exhibit student-submitted photos from near and afar at the 1899 Bar and Grill and Green Scene Café in the HLC building. The contest winner will be announced at the International Idol competition on Friday evening.

In partnership with Pens for Kids International, pens, pencils and other school supply donations will be collected to be distributed to a school in Kenya. Donations can be delivered to the Center for International Education, located in the Blome building, or picked up on campus by contacting (928) 523-6548 or Tia.Truss@nau.edu.

Rounding out the week’s festivities, International Idol will feature a talent show theme at 7 p.m. Friday, showcasing music, dance and other cultural performances from NAU students. For a full schedule of events, visit: http://nau.edu/CIE/International-Week/.
