  • Anita Antoninka, an assistant research professor for the School of Forestry, had her work featured in the article “The dirt on biocrusts: Why scientists are working to save Earth’s living skin,” published in Knowable Magazine. The article covers Antoninka’s work with ecologist Sasha Reed, discovering ways to protect biocrusts, or small organisms living on the surfaces of soil patches, from climate change.   
  • Scot Raab, the associate dean for the College of the Environment, Forestry, and Natural Sciences, finished 20th in his age group’s section of the 2024 World Triathlon Aquabike Championships in Townsville, Australia. Raab finished with a time of just under 4 hours and 29 minutes.
