  • NAU soccer midfielder Avery Ott was named the Big Sky Conference’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 30. Ott ranks second in the team in scoring and third in the conference in shots.  This is the second time this season she has earned this title.  
  • Sara Rinfret, a professor in the Department of Politics and International Affairs, was elected as a member of the National Academy of Public Administration’s 2025 Class of Academy Fellows. Fellows are nominated and elected based on their contributions to the field of public administration and policy.
  • Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science alumni Ryder Strauss, Colin Chandler and William Oldroyd joined Chair David Trilling and associate professor Chad Trujillo to co-author the paper “An Efficient Shift-and-Stack Algorithm Applied to Detection Catalogs,” published in The Astronomical Journal. The paper introduces a modified shift-and-stack algorithm that trades sensitivity for speed when discovering faint astronomical objects.
