  • NAU’s women’s track & field team finished off strong the spring semester with an earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor. 20 student-athletes from the men’s and women’s track and field teams also placed in the All-Academic Individual Honor list. This article lists all the award-winning athlete-students from the past season.  
  • NAU golfer Aleksandra Chekalina, recent NAU graduate, and first-year NAU students Lizzie Neale and Ellana Slater earned a spot on the WGCA All-American Scholars Team and were Golden Eagle Scholar Athletes award winners. Athletes Neale and Slater’s high-performance achievements in and outside the sports field were detailed in this article along with Chekalina’s, third-time award winner of the WGCA All-American Scholar, performance record. 
  • Former NAU football player Coleman Owen and women’s basketball player Regan Schenck were named NAU’s Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year early last week by the league office, after an outstanding performance during their athlete career in NAU.  Repetitive award recipients Owen, ranked seventh in the Big Sky, and Schenck, ranked sixth in free throw percentage, ample record and award list can be found in this article.  
  • NAU’s Big Sky Conference awarded 48 NAU student-athletes from men’s and women’s outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s golf teams, to the Big Sky Spring All-Academic team last week. After playing in more than half of the season’s games and maintained a 3.2 GPA average, these students were first in line for the Big Sky Spring All-Academic award.   • Former NAU football players Stacy Chukwumezie and Morgan Vest will continue their football careers professionally in the XFL. Chukwumezie signed with the Vegas Vipers as a wide receiver, while Vest signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons as a defensive back. 
  • Northern Arizona University was recently recognized, by ABOUND for being one of the best online colleges in the West. This recognition promotes NAU’s online program as affordable with a high graduation rate, while providing students across the country with a high-value online education and resources.
