  • Department of Anthropology associate professor Lucero Radonic and the NAU Water, Society and Policy Lab hosted the launch event for the NAU Arizona Water for All (AW4A) initiative on Nov. 15, a partnership program between the Arizona government and in-state public universities designed to support water-insecure households using community-based solutions. The launch event included more than 35 participants from nonprofit organizations, government agencies and higher education institutions to celebrate NAU’s inclusion in the program and build momentum for future on-campus AW4A projects.
  • NAU ranked No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in Arizona on the Military Times Best for Vets 2024 Colleges list. Military Times scores universities based on their capacity to provide career services, academic support and financial assistance to military students.
  • Department of Anthropology assistant professor Kellam Throgmorton co-authored the article “Origins and Sources of Zuni Mountain Spotted Chert,” published in KIVA: The Journal of Southwestern Anthropology and History. The article is the first publication to provide a scientific description of the geologic origins and distribution of Zuni Mountain Spotted Chert, a sedimentary rock found in archaeological sites in northwestern New Mexico historically used extensively for making stone tools and projectile points.
