- NAU was recognized as one of Money’s 2024 Best Online Colleges in America, earning a five-star rating for producing quality online resources, maintaining affordable pricing and fostering high employment rates among online program graduates.
- NAU’s Institute for Human Development (IHD) received two grants from the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council for projects designed to empower and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- The first grant was a $50,000 award to launch the IHD’s ATLAS project, a one-year model demonstration project aiming to foster enhanced educational experiences for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities using targeted assistive technology. Project leads will conduct guided interviews with participating students to assess how assistive technology can be improved and create comprehensive training opportunities for disability resource officers, staff members and other campus supports to ensure student needs are met.
- The IHD also received funding to create and implement statewide Online Privacy and Safety (OPS) training curriculums to teach individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities how to safely navigate the internet and virtually connect with their friends, families and communities.
