  • Department of Occupational Therapy clinical professor Cindy Ivy and two occupational therapy graduate students—Braiden Solomon and Drema Goodrich—traveled to Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, as part of their OTD 701-Practice Scholar Apprenticeship project, titled “Comprehensive Task Analysis of Diné (Navajo) Rug Weaving.” There, they met with and observed textile weaver, fiber artist and sheep herder Roy Kady as he and his grandson weaved for approximately three hours. The group aims to explore the various physical, perceptual, social, environmental and cognitive requirements of Diné rug weaving through their research.  
  • The Society for the Study of Social Problems honored Luis Fernandez, a professor for the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, with its 2025 Lee Founders Award. The award recognizes individuals with major achievements in scholarly research, teaching or service related to social justice.
