  • Hotel and restaurant management professor Frederick DeMicco and students Phoenix Payton, Emma Reichert, Ashley Waypa, Elliana Taylor and Michael Harkins co-published the article “Combining Artificial Reality and Robots to Improve Hospitality Operations: The Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI.)” The paper, which discusses how AI and robots can be used in marketing, restaurant serving, sales, management or training in the hospitality industry, appeared this month in the worldwide publication Hospitality Net. 
  • Senior geology student Claire Gibson produced a radio segment for KNAU about scientific research in Antarctica as part of her Hooper Undergraduate Research Award grant. 
  • Thirty-two NAU faculty completed a 25-module professional learning course this academic year as part of The NAU Teaching and Learning Center’s (TLC) partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). Full-time faculty who are interested in applying for the 2024-2025 ACUE “Effective Online Teaching Practices” and “Effective Teaching Practices” courses are encouraged to contact the TLC at NAU.TLC@nau.edu.
