The Amsterdam-based Calefax Reed Quintet—consisting of oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet and bassoon—will perform a program of French and French-inspired classics on April 8. Pianist Jeffrey Swann will present “The Birth of Musical Modernism II: Paris 1913” on April 15.
Both concerts are at 7:30 p.m. at Ashurst Hall.
Swann’s performance will be preceded by “InContext: Paris 1913,” a historical preview of the cultural influences. The presentation will be at Ashurst Hall, from 6-7 p.m.
