Flagstaff and Ferguson: A community and panel discussion

In partnership with the Murdoch Center, Northern Arizona University’s Philosophy in the Public Interest program will host a panel of experts from NAU and the concerned community to discuss what happened in Ferguson, Mo., and what it means to Flagstaff residents.

Each panelist will present a topic, then the community will have an opportunity to participate in the discussion.

The event takes place from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the Murdoch Center, 203 E. Brannen Ave., Flagstaff.

Panelists include Timothy Swanson, minister, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran; Frederick Gooding, Jr., NAU Department of Ethnic Studies; George Villas, Flagstaff Community; Luis Fernandez, NAU Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and director of Sustainable Communities. The discussion will be monitored by Andrea Houchard, Philosophy in the Public Interest.
