NAU’s International Film Series will begin the fall semester Wednesday, Sept. 17, with Nabil Ayouch’s Horses of God. Free films will be screened most Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 to Dec. 3 in the Liberal Arts building, Rm. 120.
This semester’s theme is “Heroes, Villains & Ordinary Folks,” featuring films that focus on individuals who are responding to very difficult circumstances, said series organizer Judith Costello.
“Society places labels on people, but both heroes and villains are actually just ordinary folks who respond in extraordinary ways to unusual situations,” said Costello, a lecturer in comparative cultural students. “As several of the films will demonstrate, it is not always so clear who the bad guys and good guys really are.”
