Chris Johnson, associate professor in the School of Communication, has his latest work as part of the juried exhibit,“Landscape at Risk: “Contemporary Views of the West,” at Coconino Community College.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday through October 11. An artists’ reception is scheduled for 5 – 7 tonight in the CCC Lone Tree Campus Commons.
The exhibit examines the ecological, social and aesthetic effects of tourism, industrial activity and urban development in the West and how natural communities are affected by these issues. Johnson’s work focuses on the destruction of the environment by man through the use of machine. Produced entirely on the computer, the work is then printed digitally using a large-format photographic process.
