The NAU Police Department is supporting next weekend’s Dump the Drugs event where outdated and unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs can be disposed of properly.
Citizens Against Substance Abuse and the Coconino County Alliance Against Drugs are hosting this semiannual event, aimed at protecting against improperly discarded medications that can make their way into the water supply.
Additionally, up to two bankers’ size boxes can be dropped off for free shredding.
Collections will be taken from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Law Enforcement Facility parking lot, 911 E. Sawmill Road.
