On Sunday, the Northern Arizona University Chamber Orchestra will perform its annual “Spring Classics” concert.
Composed of 40 student and professional musicians, the orchestra will be conducted by graduate student Desmond Siu. The concert will include Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 “Farewell,” Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis” and Ponce’s “Concerto del Sur” featuring guitar soloist Andrew Manka. Manka was recently a winner in the 2018 School of Music Concerto Competition.
The concert will be held at 3 p.m. March 11 in Ashurst Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and NAU faculty and staff. Admission is free for children and NAU students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased through the Central Ticketing Office in the University Union, through the Central Ticketing website or by calling (928) 523-5661.
