Young business owners are bringing skills to share with the campus community during two entrepreneurship events next month.
Northern Arizona University’s Office of Research and the Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology will host a business program for students, alumni and the Flagstaff community Feb. 1, and a business startup workshop for students Feb. 8-10.
The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour will feature NAU alums and local business owners Jason Moeller and Cindy May, along with keynote speakers from around the country who will share their strategies for successfully launching a business. The tour is from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in Ashurst Hall. The event also includes workshops, networking opportunities and panel discussions led by business leaders. Registration is free and available online.
Startup Weekend, a three-day workshop beginning Friday, Feb. 8, will teach students from any area of study what it takes to launch a business. The event will pair students with designers, marketers, developers and product managers to share ideas, build products and launch startup businesses. The workshop kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday and continues through Sunday afternoon.
