Axe in Motion virtual event encourages movement to show Lumberjack support

It’s time to move it, move it! As a result of the pandemic, Lumberjack students are facing uncertain futures and are in need of caring and compassionate Northern Arizona University alumni for support. NAU alumni, friends and families are invited to participate in Axe in Motion 20:20, a virtual event from Aug. 5-12 designed to welcome and support Lumberjack students.

The event encourages participants to move for 20 minutes and 20 seconds as a way to show Lumberjack students their alumni family has their back every step of the way.

To participate, register by filling out the form on the NAU Foundation webpage and then choose an activity to track for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. This can be walking, running, cycling, yoga, dancing or anything else of your choice. Track your movement using an app such as MapMyRun or Aaptiv.

Once the activity is completed, download and print an Axe in Motion race bib, snap a photo and share your movement on social media along with words of encouragement for Lumberjacks. The post should be set on public with the hashtags #AxeInMotion and #LumberjackForLife. Tag @NAUAlumni or email photos to Alumni@nau.edu.

In addition to Axe in Motion, students are facing unplanned financial hardships. Additional support during this time can be shown by donating to the General Scholarship fund on the NAU Foundation giving webpage. The first 25 donors will receive a special thank-you gift.

Questions regarding Axe in Motion or donations can be emailed to Alumni@nau.edu.
