Ellen Dissanayake, the author of What Is Art For?, will be speaking at Northern Arizona University in Cline Library Assembly Hall. The lecture is free.
Her talk, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, “The Deep Structure of the Arts,” will explore the underlying principles of human nature that influence the making of art.
Dissanayake is an independent scholar and affiliate professor in the School of Music at the University of Washington, Seattle.
