During her time at NAU, ceramics major Julie Ogier learned many artistic media. This month she will use all of her skills to create an installation on the humpback chub, an endangered fish of the Colorado River.
The exhibit is the culmination of Ogier’s artistic studies, which will be on display along with other graduating fine-arts majors, at the College of Arts and Letters BFA I and II exhibits in April.
“This piece is definitely the most significant thing I’ve ever done before,” Ogier said. “I’m taking what I’ve learned and what I like from so many professors.”
The BFA Exhibit I will be April 10-19 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. April 18 at the Beasley Gallery in the Performing and Fine Arts building (bldg. 37) on the NAU campus. Students exhibiting include Chris Powell (painting), Gabriel Zamora (printmaking), Ivan Jimenez (jewelry), Alma Aispuro (ceramics) and Gwendolyn Gudaitis (ceramics).
The BFA Exhibit II will be April 25-May 3 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. May 2 at the Beasley Gallery. Students exhibiting include Kathleen Ruiz (painting), Becky MacIntyre (painting), E. Michelle Brumbaugh (painting), Larry Phan (sculpture), Emy Lewis (jewelry/metalsmithing) and Loren Candela (jewelry/metalsmithing).
