- NAU earned multiple spots on the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Colleges list, ranking No. 53 in most innovative universities, No. 135 in top public schools and No. 168 in best undergraduate engineering programs. This list evaluates more than 1,400 U.S. universities based on factors like graduation rates, peer assessments, financial resources and staff-student ratios.
- This month, NAU also earned five awards for its outstanding online degree programs from Research.com based on the website’s 2024 rankings. These honors include:
- Department of Theatre Chair Kathleen McGeever and five first-generation NAU students traveled to Los Angeles for “The Artist’s Life After NAU: LA Edition,” a program designed to demystify the film, theatre and television industries for upcoming graduates. Attendees met with NAU alumni in each field to learn about how the industries are run and what it takes to join them after college.
- Regents’ Professor of chemistry and biochemistry Jani Ingram earned the 2024 AISES Ely S. Parker Award for her work using chemistry to craft tangible solutions for Indigenous populations at risk of environmental health issues. Ingram will be honored at the 2024 AISES National Conference closing banquet on Oct. 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
- Eric Otenyo, a professor for the Department of Politics and International Affairs, authored a chapter of the monograph “Pathways to Positive Public Administration.” Otenyo’s chapter, titled “Delivering immigration services: a case of positive public administration in Kenya,” explores how the Kenyan government has attempted to modernize its immigration department and the impacts of these changes on Kenyan populations.
