César E. Chávez Community Breakfast
March 22, 7-9 a.m. (doors open at 6:45 a.m.)
The Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC) will be hosting its 6th annual César E. Chávez Community Breakfast at American Legion Post 3 (204 W. Birch Ave.) in Flagstaff. The event will feature guest speaker, Cesar L. Chavez, grandson of the civil rights and farm labor leader, Anthony Chavez, Cesar’s youngest son. Optional breakfast is $15 per person, and reservations are required. Purchase tickets here.
United Farm Workers Essentials Drives
March 25-29, 8-9 a.m.
In collaboration with NAU Yuma, we will be holding a UFW Essentials Drive (i.e., toiletries) to bring to Yuma for their Dia del Campesinos Event. It is a day when everyone in the Yuma community gets together to provide resources for farm workers who travel from Mexico. Please bring all donations to the Office of Inclusion.
Women of the Movement: Dia de Servicio – Day of Service
March 26, 6-8 p.m.
In honor of the United Farm Worker Movement and Cesar Chavez Heritage Week, we will be coming together to put together tokens of appreciation for our NAU essential workers. This event is free and open to everyone.
The Xicanx Movement Now
April 1, 5:30-7 p.m.
We welcome guest speaker, Dr. Vanessa Marie Bustamante who will share her story as a self-identified first-generation, bilingual, queer, Xicana scholar. This event is free and open to the NAU community.
