- NAU students, faculty and staff made more than 2,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Monday, as part of Campus Dining’s efforts for World Kindness Day. The sandwiches were distributed to people in the Flagstaff community who are experiencing food insecurity. - NAU men’s and women’s cross-country teams earned automatic bids to the NCAA National Championships after sweeping both men’s and women’s team titles at the NCAA Mountain Regional. Both teams will be headed to Charlottesville, Virginia, for the NCAA National Championships on Nov 18.
- Frances Julia Riemer, professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and associate faculty in the Women’s and Gender Studies program, recently published her edited book version on tourism, “Re-Centering Women: Anticolonial Feminist Studies.” In her book, Riemer talks about women‘s empowerment and colonial hierarchies through discussions that emphasize women’s lived experiences and perspectives through epistemological lenses that include colonial histories.
- Carol Chambers, professor in the School of Forestry, received the highest honor bestowed by the Wildlife Society, the Aldo Leopold Memorial Award and Medal, at the Wildlife Society annual meeting, for her distinguished service to wildlife conservation.
- NAU TV manager Erik Sather and videographers Nick Smallwood and Chris Strobel won CASE’s (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Best of District VII Awards for creative and innovative ideas on emerging trends that help professionals in the field of higher education advancement.
