  • Fred DeMicco, executive director and professor in the W.A. Franke College of Business, recently published the article “Innovative Hospitality and Lodging Medi Spa Solutions During COVID and Beyond,” which emphasizes the importance of guest wellness and overall safety amid the pandemic.
  • David Miles, professor in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, recently published an article on WalletHub. In “Exploring the Best Travel Credit Cards,” Miles discusses which travel cards will be the most rewarding.
  • Norman Medoff, professor in the School of Communication, received the 2022 BEA Textbook Award for his book “Now Media: The Evolution of Electronic Communication” that he coauthored with Barbara Kaye of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. The book, which has been a staple in mass communication and communication history courses, provides a comprehensive view of electronic media developments from the beginnings of broadcasting to the latest digital innovations.
  • Behind five championships amongst their eight Big Sky Conference sponsored women’s programs, Northern Arizona University claimed the Big Sky Women’s All-Sport Trophy for the second consecutive year and 10th time in school history. The Lumberjack women’s 10th All-Sport Trophy snaps a tie with Weber State for the most Women’s All-Sport Trophies in league history.
  • Christopher Edwards, associate professor in the Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science, was recently featured in NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “Science at Sunrise: Solving the Mystery of Frost Hiding on Mars” highlights findings of widespread CO2 frost on Mars and its role in regolith generation.
  • Phil Massey, adjunct professor in the Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science, and Erin Aadland, a doctoral student working at Lowell Observatory and recent NAU graduate, were interviewed for an NPR story, “Star study shines new light on old stars, black holes,” about their findings on how stars evolve as they age.
  • David Trilling, chair and professor in the Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science, presented at the recent Apophis T-7 conference—a meeting to talk about research opportunities ahead of Apophis’ Earth flyby in 2029.
