The Northern Arizona University School of Music has partnered with the acclaimed Boston Brass and other concert organizations across the country to present “Arts Across America: Community, Together,” a livestream event hosted at 5 p.m. on Oct. 18.
This special performance and educational event invites friends and patrons to join as part of the 2020-21 Horizons Concert Series and educational initiative, “Rewired: The Incredible Benefits of Getting Back to Basics.” The initiative was created by Boston Brass to recognize other organizations and music programs across the country who are experiencing difficulties in keeping their doors open, maintaining the interest of patrons and keeping students engaged due to the COIVD-19 pandemic.
With over 35 years of international touring, Boston Brass offers a terrific, artistically entertaining “something-for-everyone” program. The ensemble features everything from familiar classical works to popular jazz standards delivered with the ensemble’s signature audience interaction and charming rapport.
Jeff Connor, founder and second trumpet player, sent special greetings and an invitation from Boston Brass. To listen to previous recordings, click the links to their music videos of “Simple Gifts,” “Blues for Ben” and “Flight of the Green Hornet.”
Preregistration is required and a free access code will be given when you email your name and phone number to music@nau.edu up to 24 hours before the concert.
