Nigerian physician Reginald Oputa will give a free public lecture titled “Diabetes Mellitus: A Global Epidemic with Potential Solution” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at NAU’s Phoenix Biomedical Campus, room B-108.
Oputa is an endocrinologist consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine and lecturer in the College of Medical Science at Imo State University. His research areas include diabetes education, care and advocacy, connecting C-peptide estimation in the diagnosis, classification and management of diabetes mellitus and treatment of thyroid disorders.
Oputa is currently a Scholar-in-Residence at Pima Community College in Tucson.
