The Arizona Board of Regents invites the campus and community to the installation of Rita Hartung Cheng, 16th president of Northern Arizona University. The ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium in Flagstaff.
A musical showcase will begin at 1:45 p.m. The installation ceremony is scheduled for 2:30-4 p.m. and will include speeches by ABOR Chair Mark Killian and Flagstaff Mayor Jerry Nabours, several musical performances by students and faculty, and a formal investiture of President Cheng. A post-ceremony reception is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. directly across the street in the Fieldhouse.
The installation is free and open to the public, however tickets are required. Visit the Central Ticket Office in the University Union or bit.ly/NAUinstallation to order tickets and print them from your computer.
Because of the high volume of visitors expected on campus, parking will be limited. Faculty, staff and students are asked to leave their vehicles where they normally park and utilize on-campus transportation or walk to get to the event. Guests will be directed to the San Francisco Parking Garage, where shuttle services will be available for individuals with mobility needs.
The event will be available via live web stream and televised on NAU-TV 104HD and channel 4 beginning at 2:30 p.m.
