NAU’s True Blue Fridays are back in full force this week as the university joins in a national celebration of school spirit for College Colors Day, tomorrow, Sept. 4.
Throughout the day, students, faculty, staff, alumni, organizations and businesses are encouraged to wear their favorite NAU apparel as a way to promote traditions and spirit on campus.
In recognition of the fifth annual College Colors Day, NAU President John Haeger has re-issued his 2007 decree that makes every Friday a “True Blue Friday.” Everyone at the university’s Flagstaff campus and at NAU’s community and branch campuses across the state is encouraged to show school spirit by donning and displaying the school’s colors and logos.
Submit photos of your group showing their school spirit for a chance to win the traveling NAU Spirit trophy. NAU enthusiasts also can join the True Blue Fridays Facebook page for a chance to win prizes every first Friday of the month. And the “prize patrol” will seek out individuals wearing NAU gear on campus and throughout Flagstaff.
College Colors Day coincides with the start of the school year and helps kicks-off of the college athletics season. The event strives to increase public awareness and celebrates the achievements of colleges and universities throughout the nation.
