Visiting NAU scholar Srini Krishnan, founder and director of the Global Rhythms World Music Ensemble and artist-in-residence at Miami University, will perform a free concert on at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in Ashurst Auditorium.
He will be performing a selection of classical and Indian fusion music.
Krishnan is a protégé of A.R. Rahman, perhaps the best known contemporary Indian composer and recording artist. Krishnan plays the tabla, among other instruments, and has a network of world musicians he enjoys bringing to campuses to work and perform with students.
