Job seekers may wish to polish their résumés because this week brings two career fairs to the NAU Mountain campus.
NAU College of Engineering, Forestry
and Natural Sciences Career Fair
The first targets NAU students majoring in all science and engineering disciplines. From noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the High Country Conference Center, NAU College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences Career Fair will showcase job opportunities and internships.
“This career fair is a supplement to the general career fair,” said Graylynn Hudson, program coordinator at the Career and Scholarship Office in the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences. “It is an ideal setting for students to meet employers in the environmental and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—STEM—fields.”
Twenty-two employers will be on hand to answer questions and sign up students to be interviewed the following day, Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, building 69. A list of employers, career workshops and information sessions can be found at nau.edu/cefns/careerevents.
NAU Fall 2010 Career Fair
All NAU students, employees and alumni can explore career options and networking possibilities at the NAU Fall 2010 Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the High Country Conference Center.
More than 50 employers and graduate schools will attend, representing both the public and private sectors.
“The Career and Graduate School Fair is a great opportunity to engage with organizations that want to hire NAU students,” said Phillip Schaefer, academic adviser at Gateway Student Success Center. “Overall, there is a wide range of businesses and graduate schools that are excited to come to campus and meet our prepared students.”
On-campus interviews will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Gateway Student Success Center. Students must attend the career fair on Thursday, Oct. 7, to meet with recruiters, submit their résumés and to schedule an on-campus interview for the following day.
Appropriate business attire is suggested for both fairs.
