From haunted houses to Day of the Dead altars, Northern Arizona University is scaring up some activities for Halloween:
- The 14th annual Halloween Extravaganza will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31, in the du Bois Center Ballroom. NAU students, faculty and staff are invited to bring their children to this free event to enjoy a safe and fun night featuring treats, games and more. For information, contact Dylan Rust at (928) 523-2541.
- The men of Taylor Hall will present ‘Slashback, the Evolution of Terror’ from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 28-30 and 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 31 in room 11 of the du Bois Center. The haunted house is geared toward high-school students or older and costs $5, or $3 with a can of food.
- View a traditional ofrenda, or altar, on display for El Dia de Los Muertos in the NAU Bookstore. The elaborate altar is courtesy of the NAU Art History Society and annually honors a deceased artist. This year’s artist is Pablo Picasso. The display will remain through Saturday, Oct. 30.
