The NAU Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of percussion professor Steve Hemphill, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 19, in Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.
Opening the concert will be a gentle work for a sextet of percussion keyboards, a transcription of William Bolcom’s slow rag Graceful Ghost, originally composed for piano in 1971. This will be followed by Bob Becker’s quintet Away without Leave, Vespertine Formations by Christopher Deane, and John Wyre’s Mitsue, with special guest Rebecca Scarnati on the English horn. The ensemble will round out the performance with David Skidmore’s award-winning piece Whispers.
The concert, presented by the School of Music Student Ensemble Series, is free and open to the public. For information,
