Picture a romantic musician trying to win the heart of Condoleezza Rice, and you have the premise of Courting Condi, an independent film previewing at NAU.
Described as a musical “docu-tragi-comedy,” the film investigates Rice’s history as Secretary of State by way of a suitor who travels across America to learn more about one of the most powerful women in the world.
The screening will be free and at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Cline Library Assembly Hall.
Directed by Sebastian Doggart, Courting Condi will be in theaters in January.
“We are very excited to have one of the most talked about new films coming to our community before it hits major markets,” said Janna Jones, associate professor in the School of Communication and the director of NAU’s Cinema and Visual Culture Studies program.
