NAU Dining Services is hosting an old-fashioned Thanksgiving celebration for some of the community’s seniors.
Dining Services and Parking Services are combining forces to host seniors from the Thorpe Park Community and Senior Center for a free traditional Thanksgiving meal from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the du Bois Center.
Parking Services will provide the transportation for about 60 seniors, said Casey Fisher, marketing director for Campus Dining. Several members of the Kayettes also will attend.
She added that seniors throughout the community are welcome to attend for free. Faculty, staff and students also can join the festivities for $8.60 in cash or $7.85 with Dining Dollars.
“It gives us the opportunity to reach out and honor the senior members of the Flagstaff community,” Fisher said. “They come to Northern Arizona University and experience a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in an exciting and vibrant atmosphere. Our guests enjoy the interaction with our students and invoke a spirit of gratitude that we can lose sight of during the busy holiday season.”
Dining Services also will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the HotSpot. The meals are $8.60 with cash or $7.85 with Dining Dollars.
